Here is Rich's story:
I am the cars
2nd owner, purchased in march 2005....I fell in love with those fins and had
to have it, even though it is a 4 door! The car still has the original dealer
sticker on the back (Johnson Motors Vancouver B.C.)...faded but there!!!
Originally it was 2 tone blue from the factory but the original owner wanted a
red car...so the dealership painted it white and red for him before he
picked it up....The paint may not be original, but it is 47 years old!
I have left it basically stock...except it is lowered it 3 inches in the front to
match the 47 years of sag in the rear!!! Why??? Because it looks cool that
way!!! Installed a cd player, hidden in the glove box...cause AM Radio
just sucks!!!
She had been sitting outside, uncovered, for 6 years and needed a lot of
cleaning/polishing. Had to replace the rotten carpet, and a few switches,
dash mounted rear view mirror etc. Replaced the rotten single exhaust, and
installed duels with Smithy glass packs to get that hot rod sound. That's
about it to get it to this stage...just lots of elbow grease and
tinkering.
Future plans are paint and body...white with blue roof so it matches the
interior...don't know what the original owner was thinking!!! And of
course replacing parts with better ones when I can find them! Not a lot
out there for the early Mopars!!!
